About Dr. Virginia Lindahl

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in Arlington, VA, with over 20 years of experience helping adults, adolescents, and children better understand what’s getting in the way and move toward lives that feel more manageable and meaningful. Since opening my practice in 2004, I’ve worked with individuals and families who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward.

My Approach

I approach therapy and psychological testing as a collaborative process. You bring your experience and perspective, and I bring clinical training and expertise. Together, we work to better understand what’s happening and identify practical ways to create meaningful change.

My work is grounded in evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I specialize in therapy for OCD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and tinnitus-related distress, and I also provide psychological testing and evaluation for ADHD, executive functioning challenges, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, and other learning differences. Across both areas, my focus is on helping people better understand what’s getting in the way and what’s most likely to help.

Whether we’re working through therapy or evaluation, my goal is to create a space that feels thoughtful, straightforward, and supportive while helping you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Education and Experience

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Catholic University of America. I continue to pursue training in evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ERP, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and habit reversal training (HRT), so that my work remains current and effective.
